Thoughtful artistry: Dr. Rahban’s one-of-a-kind approach to chin implants

With an unprecedented eye for detail and a commitment to creating ideal outcomes for his patients, Dr. Rahban’s approach to delivering chin implants surgery in Beverly Hills is second to none. Prior to your procedure, he spends a great deal of time evaluating your anatomy and planning for your care, because he knows that the work he does before surgery has a massive impact on your post-operative appearance. For example, one of the most important aspects of your procedure is the selection of the implant – and the majority of this work is done before surgery begins. There are a variety of types, sizes and shapes available. Settling on the wrong one can completely (and negatively) change the shape and look of your face.

Dr. Rahban is equally thoughtful when it comes to the surgical techniques used to complement your procedure. If you suffer from fullness and heaviness underneath the chin, he may recommend submental liposuction to refine the area and ensure that your new chin shines. In other cases, he may recommend a neck lift to reduce any sagging that may detract from a well-defined chin and jawline area. You can rest assured that when Dr. Rahban is performing your procedure, he will make sure you receive the exact care you need based on your goals.

What to expect during your procedure

To begin the procedure, Dr. Rahban will make a small external incision (1.5cm to 2cm) just beneath the chin. Although there is a technique that involves a hidden incision within the mouth, he strongly prefers the external approach because there are fewer risks to the patient.

Dr. Rahban will then insert a variety of sizers to make sure that the shape and size of your final implant are just right. If necessary, he will even carve the implant so that it’s an ideal fit for your unique anatomy. From there, he will create a pocket to hold the implant in place. This is a critical part of your procedure, because a pocket that is too big or too small can create the appearance of a crooked chin implant.

Once the pocket is formed and the proper shape and size of the implant confirmed, Dr. Rahban will carefully insert the chin implant and close your incision in layers to ensure virtually imperceptible scarring. He will then apply dressings and tape to the area to promote healing.

Recovery

Following your chin implant procedure with Dr. Rahban, you will need to take care of the area while you heal. After about one week, he will remove your dressings and stitches. At that point, you will likely still be swollen and your smile muscles may be slightly weak for a short time.

It’s important to know that this is completely normal. It can take up to three months for your final results to emerge. During this time, there will be little for you to do except massage your incision daily and avoid very strenuous exercise to ensure an optimal healing process.
