What Is a Brow Lift?

Aging often brings wisdom, but it can also bring changes to your appearance that affect how you feel about yourself. As collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid naturally decrease over time, the skin can develop wrinkles, lose volume, and begin to sag. When these changes affect the forehead and brows, they can create a tired, tense, or even sad expression, one that doesn’t reflect how you actually feel inside.

A brow lift in Beverly Hills with Dr. Rady Rahban is a thoughtful, rejuvenating procedure that lifts and smooths the upper face, restoring a more refreshed, approachable appearance. For some, it may also help improve vision if drooping brows are blocking the upper field of sight.

Dr. Rahban may select one of the following techniques when performing your surgery:

  • Endoscopic Brow Lift – Using an endoscope (tiny camera,) Dr. Rahban creates a series of small incisions within the hairline. This is a good option for those with mild to moderate drooping in the brows who seek to minimize postoperative scarring.
  • Temporal Brow Lift – When sagging occurs in the temples and outer region of the brows, a temporal lift can be performed to refresh your countenance and make you look years younger.
  • Coronal Brow Lift – For patients dealing with significant skin sagging, a coronal lift may be the best option. Here, the incision is made across the scalp, allowing Dr. Rahban to perform extensive reshaping of the upper face.

What are the benefits of a Brow Lift?

A brow lift with Dr. Rahban isn’t just about looking younger, it’s about aligning your appearance with how you feel inside. Whether you're seeking cosmetic rejuvenation or relief from vision obstruction caused by sagging brows, this procedure offers both aesthetic and functional advantages:

During your consultation for your brow lift in Beverly Hills, Dr. Rahban will take time to understand your aesthetic goals, review your health history, and examine your skin and facial structure. If a brow lift is right for you, he’ll explain the process clearly and create a personalized plan.

What Does a Brow Lift Entail?

To begin the procedure, Dr. Rahban carefully places small, well-hidden incisions, typically within the hairline or natural creases of the forehead, based on your customized surgical plan. Through these access points, he lifts and repositions the underlying tissues and muscles to create a smoother, more youthful brow contour. Excess skin is gently removed, and the remaining skin is redraped for a natural result.

The surgery is performed in a comfortable, controlled environment using the appropriate form of anesthesia, either local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on your individual needs.

Once the procedure is complete, incisions are closed with meticulous suturing, and you will be monitored during a short recovery period before being cleared to return home.

How Much Does a Brow Lift Cost in Beverly Hills?

Brow lift pricing can vary from patient to patient depending on the techniques Dr. Rahban utilizes, the extent of your skin sagging, and whether your surgery is combined with another cosmetic option, like eyelid surgery or a facelift. The best way to obtain a transparent, personalized quote is to undergo a private consultation with Dr. Rahban and his team in Beverly Hills, CA.

Recovery Timeline

The First 24 Hours

Swelling, bruising, and numbness are common side effects at first, but they are temporary and will slowly fade. You will take pain medications to ease any discomfort, and keep your head elevated when resting or sleeping.

2-3 Days After Surgery

Swelling and bruising will be at their worst during the first few days. You should keep your skin dry and clean and follow a balanced diet to aid in your recovery process

The First Week

Within the first week, side effects like swelling and bruising will decrease, indicating that your body is healing. If non-dissolvable sutures were placed, they will be removed during week one.

The Second Week

Within two weeks after your brow lift, more healing will take place and you will be able to gradually resume some normal activities. However, strenuous workouts are still prohibited, as they could place strain on your incisions.

The First Month

Most swelling and bruising has faded by this point, allowing you to glimpse the beauty of your results. Most patients resume their normal schedules at this juncture. Continue to shield your skin from the sun’s damaging UV rays, and apply a skincare regimen recommended by Dr. Rahban and his team.

2-3 Months After Surgery

At this point, your brows have settled into their new position, appearing balanced, symmetrical, and energized. You can see your results, and you feel more confident in your appearance.

How does a brow lift differ from blepharoplasty?

While a brow lift focuses on rejuvenating the appearance of the brows and forehead, blepharoplasty targets the eyelids, removing excess skin, tissue, and fat to enhance the facial expression. Both procedures can revitalize the upper face, however, which is why they are frequently performed together.

Is a brow lift painful?

Your brow lift with Dr. Rahban is performed under local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia, ensuring you feel no pain during the treatment process. Afterward, you have pain medications at your disposal, and you can use an ice pack for the first 48 hours to offset any discomfort.

What will scarring be like?

Dr. Rahban understands the importance of well-hidden scars and does everything possible to place incisions in areas where scarring will later be inconspicuous. If scarring concerns persist, the doctor can recommend scar revision techniques and suggest medical-grade scar creams.

How many appointments will I need?

In addition to your consultation and brow lift surgery, you will need to return to Dr. Rahban’s offices for a series of follow-up visits. This gives the doctor a chance to review your incisions and make sure everything is healing optimally.

How long until I see results?

It can take several months for all residual swelling to die down. With each passing week, you will see more of your results emerging, with the brows and forehead appearing tighter and more rejuvenated.

Can I combine a brow lift with other procedures?

Yes. Dr. Rahban commonly pairs a brow lift with eyelid surgery, a facelift, dermal fillers, BOTOX, and other procedures and treatments tailored to your goals. He will discuss your options in more depth during your private consultation in Beverly Hills.

What are the risks of a brow lift?

Dr. Rahban is known for his attention to patient safety and his conservative surgical approach. However, every surgery comes with certain inherent risks to be aware of. With a brow lift, these include the following:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Bleeding
  • Infection
  • Scarring
  • Asymmetry
  • Pain
  • Negative anesthesia reactions
  • A raised hairline
  • Nerve injury
  • Muscle injury
  • The need for revision surgery
