Dr. Rahban helps the needy both here at home as well as internationally.  He is a critical member of the HELPS International volunteer organization, whose mission is to provide critically needed care to the locals of Guatemala. He and the rest of the team perform over a 100 procedures in one short week.  The team brings most of their own equipment and supplies, donated from local hospitals.  Among the numerous surgeries performed he finds cleft lip and palate reconstruction, as well the burn reconstruction to be the most rewarding.  As he is fluent in Spanish, Dr Rahban finds his experience in Central America much richer then he ever imagined,  “I look forward to getting away every year and helping out some of the most grateful people I have ever met.”
